USDA Analysts Report Acreage Increase for 2024/25, Meets Trade Expectations
The U.S. Department of Agriculture released the annual Acreage report June 28, forecasting U.S. soybean acres at 86.1 million acres, up 3% from last year. Virginia Tech's Jason Grant, W.G. Wysor Professor of Agriculture and Director for the Center of Agricultural Trade, and USSEC's CEO Jim Sutter discuss this report and the opportunity for buyers in the coming weeks and months. Here are a few of the highlights:
- Planted soybean acres are up 3% at 34.8 million hectares (86.1 million acres).
- If realized this would be the fifth highest U.S. soybean planting historically.
- The world seems comfortable with the existing buffer and supply and demand figures for soy. Know your opportunity triggers and and be prepared to leverage the advantages of U.S. Soy.
Watch the brief recording for all the details. The recording is available in: Bahasa Indonesia, simplified Chinese, English, French, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
This story was partially funded by U.S. Soy farmers, their checkoff and the soy value chain.
We look forward to continuing the conversation on USSEC Linkedin.
